Career and experience of Stella

Born in Dvorák’s home country, Stella Marisova is a gifted light coloratura soprano with a voice full of power and colour, capable of filling cathedral interiors or large concert halls, yet likewise possessing an outstanding delicacy highly appreciated by chamber music lovers.

 

After having studied in Brno at the local Conservatory and at the Janacek Academy, Stella pursued her studies in Siena with Carlo Bergonzi. She was engaged as a soloist at the Mozart Opera in Prague, as well as at the Reduta Theatre and the Janacek Opera House in Brno. Stella has sung Susanna and Barbarina (Nozze), Zerlina (Don Giovanni), Pamina (The Magic Flute), Margot (Hansel and Gretel), Barca (Smetana’s The Kiss), First Fairy (Russalka) and Fanny (Rossini’s La Cambiale de Matrimonio).

 

After having moved to France, Stella made a series of acclaimed recordings including Saint-Saëns’s Requiem, Schubert’s Mass in E Flat, Dvorak’s Stabat Mater, church music by Zdenek Pololanik and other contemporary composers, her solo album “Stella Marisova” and polycultural repertoire with the Trio Aliénor and the Collegium Musicum d’Aquitaine.

 

Stella’s recitals in churches, abbeys and concert halls have won the hearts of audiences in France, the UK, the Czech Republic and at a number of European festivals.
